I love online shopping.
Here’s one thing that bothers me between “real world” and online shopping. When I got home from work today I thought I’d purchase an HDMI cable. Browsing Newegg, within seconds I came across a hell of a deal for a seven foot cable for $4.99. Add in some reasonably priced 3-day shipping and we’re talking under eleven bucks shipped.
Now, compare if you will a trip to two of the closest local retailers, circuit city and best buy. At both the cheapest cables ran at about $50+. Given these were “higher end” cables (although the only ones that you’ll find in store), the bottom line is that digital is digital, and the signal either gets there or it doesn’t. Consumers shouldn’t be ripped off, or tricked into having to buy top of the line items because they’re visiting your store.
